When?
So now you understand that an international adoption takes time.
But that doesn't really answer the question of when your adoption
will be complete. Your adoption will be complete after the paper
chase is finished, the referral has been sent, your child is in
your arms, and the appropriate government(s) has officially recognized
the adoption. Each country has a different time frame for adoption,
and those time frames are constantly changing. Again, simply contact
Famlink, and our staff can let you know the most current expected
wait for your country of interest.
The entire process is a lot like pregnancy and labor—perhaps
longer and less physically demanding, but a labor nonetheless.
